Sustainable natural ingredients

Mariann Martin, earthScentred's 'nose' is passionate about working with nature's ingredients, but we need to be careful that their production is sustainable.

For instance earthScentred would not use Bois de Rose oil made from a Brazilian hardwood (aniba rosaeodora 'Ducke'). This oil is often made from timber felled within conservation areas of the Brazilian rain forest.

earthScentred will use organic oils where possible, but is aware that certification is not always easy for small scale farmers across the world.

Wild gathered oils may not be certified, but we will endevour to ensure that the source and method of collection is sustainable.

Simillarly we be looking to work in the spirit of fair trade.
